Did PRS Capture the Jersey Devil? Season 4 Finale
February 10, 2010
I just watched the season finale of Paranormal State, where the team investigated the creature known as The Jersey Devil in Pine Barrens, New Jersey. I hate to sound cynical, but as always when investigators are searching for possibly mythical creatures, I didn’t think there was much hope for finding a lot in the way of solid evidence.
One piece of evidence was a really hot spot at the base of a tree, that looked like something might have been peeking out behind the base. It was inconclusive as to what it was.
At about the half point in the episode, a couple of team members heard what they thought sounded like wings. Also in the way of sounds, the team was played sounds that had been previously recorded by inhabitants of New Jersey. They were peculiar sounds, but it’s not clear to whom or what they belonged.
The most compelling piece of evidence was closer to the end of the episode. An infrared camera picked up a movement in the distance. To me, immediately, it looked like a deer. As the creature moved, the team said that on it’s back, there were what appeared to be wings. Honestly, I could see how they might think they were wings, as that is what it looked like, indeed, and the creature that people had reported seeing did have wings. My husband still thinks that it looked like the deer had a stick. I’m just not one hundred percent sure.
I think the jury is still out on this case. As stated in the episode, there have been reports of sightings of this creature since the early 1900s, however the “Jersey Devil” has never been documented on film. So, in my opinion, even though there’s a first time for everything, I hold the opinion that it’s not likely that just because the Paranormal Research Society went to catch this creature on film, that they succeeded. It would be pretty great if they did, but I’m just not sure.

I am always out LARPing in these woods. It’s pretty creepy, and if the stories are not true, it’s easy to see how they came about. Personally, I’m more frightened by the fact that mobsters buried/bury their victims out there. I wouldn’t want to find a real zombie during a LARP!

I haven’t made it all the way through the episode yet. I tried, but I just don’t care. It would be amazing if a cryptid was finally caught on camera and all, but I just don’t find myself interested. I really wish they’d bumped the ep and shown another client investigation instead. :(

I completely agree.
